Professor Ervine Represents St. Nersess at UCLA
Dr. Roberta Ervine, Professor of Armenian Studies at St. Nersess, is representing St. Nersess Armenian Seminary at a major Armenian Studies Conference at the University of California, Los Angeles this weekend, March 26-28, 2009. Dr. Abraham Terian, Emeritus Professor of Armenian Theology, will also be present.
The conference, entitled, Armenian Studies at the Threshold, is sponsored by the Society for Armenian Studies.
Representatives from every major Armenian Studies Chair in the world will be present at the conference. Dr. Ervine will make a presentation on the work of St. Nersess Seminary at a session entitled, The State of Armenian Chairs and Programs in the United States.
"Considering the Seminary's full-time faculty and adjuncts, all of them active scholars, and the large number of graduate courses, St. Nerses offers more in Armenian Studies than even the most active University chairs in Armenian Studies in America," said Dr. Terian. "St. Nersess has also produced more graduates working full time in and for the Armenian community than any other chair," he added.
