St.
Nersess Armenian Seminary is an educational institution of the
Armenian Church. As a community devoted to theological inquiry
in the service of the Church, the Seminary seeks to prepare men
and women for leadership in ordained and lay ministries through
graduate degree and continuing education programs. The Seminary
is committed to assisting the Armenian Church in achieving her
challenging mission in North America in particular and in the
English-speaking world in general. In this endeavor the mission
of St. Nersess is invariably related to the mission of the Armenian
Church in edifying the faithful spiritually and intellectually,
by explicating her distinctive expression of the Apostolic faith
with relevance for the present.
". . . In these critical times, St. Nersess should be strengthened, so that it may realize its mission in the near future... Echmiadzin or Jerusalem alone cannot fulfill the needs of all the communities, especially here in North America. If during the next few years we do not train enough priests for North America here at St. Nersess, the future of the Diocese will be uncertain. Therefore, St. Nersess has a historical role to play in this community. My wish or rather my appeal is that all resources—financial, moral and otherwise—be allocated so that the Seminary may serve its intended purpose..."
