Is God Calling You?

When God calls people to serve the church today, He speaks to them in a surprising variety of ways. In Chronicles of the Call you will read stories of how God has called people past and present to serve Him. Or check out our Resources for Vocations, Points of Light, and FAQ's.

CHRONICLES OF THE CALL

The Bible is filled with stories of God calling out to men and women. Often speaking to them very directly and dramatically, God made his will known to Noah, to Moses and Aaron, to Isaiah, to Samuel, to Esther, to Mary the Mother of God, to the apostles, and to many others in the Bible.

When God calls people to serve the church today, he speaks to them in a surprising variety of ways. Some have actually heard God’s voice. Some have perceived God’s will in a dream. Others have had an experience of God’s presence that was so powerful that God’s will became obvious to them. Many have heard the call indirectly through the words of friends, family or even strangers.

In these Chronicles of the Call you will read stories of how God has called people past and present to serve Him. Each chronicle is unique, yet you will discern traits that are common to each story. Read carefully. God may be calling you.

POINTS OF LIGHT

When we speak about the Armenian priest and his pastoral ministry, quite often we think of him as primarily a liturgical functionary on Sundays or as someone who is preoccupied with administrative duties in the parish. There are, however, many points of light in the Armenian Church, small miracles that occur on a daily basis in the lives of Armenian clergy.

These vignettes have been selected from the booklet, Points of Light, published by St. Nersess Armenian Seminary in 1993. A limited number are available for purchase. Write to info@stnersess.edu for ordering information.
