St. Nersess is planning a celebration on Saturday, August 14 to bid farewell to Fr. Stepanos Doudoukjian (photo left), who is retiring as the Seminary's Director of Youth and Vocations at the end of the summer to return to parish ministry.
To celebrate Fr. Stepanos' thirteen years as Director of the Seminary's Summer and Christmas conferences, the Seminary invites all of our friends to a special evening at the Seminary.
The evening will begin at 5pm with a Bible Study entitled, Life and Resurrection. Those wishing to do so are invited to join Fr. Stepanos, Fr. Daniel Findikyan and the participants of the Post-High School Conference (which will be under way) in an hour of reading and discussion of the Bible.
Food and festivity will begin at 6:00PM with a chicken kebab BBQ and all the traditional trimmings.
An unprecedented Mega-Talent Show and Roast of Father Stepanos will follow the picnic. Veterans of summer conference talent shows for more than a decade are scheduled to revive past spectacles--for better or worse. Others plan to compete for the best impersonation of the beloved "Fr. Step."
The fun will continue with a late-night music by D.J. Mike Givelekian, another veteran of the summer conferences and sub-deacon at St. Gregory Armenian Church (White Plains, NY).
The celebration is open to the public and there will be no charge. Donations to support the Seminary's youth programs will be gratefully accepted.
