Not at St. Nersess Seminary.
This coming year St. Nersess has scheduled its annual Christmas Conference for college students to coincide with Armenian Christmas. The conference will take place at the Seminary from January 5-8, 2005.
Participants will celebrate the traditional cycle of Armenian Christmas services including the Christmas Vigil (Jrakalooyts) on the night of January 5. On the Christmas Day the participants will join in the celebration of the Divine Liturgy (Soorp Badarak) at St. Vartan Cathedral in New York City.
Specially-prepared presentations and discussions by Armenian clergy and lay leaders will lead the young people to a deeper and fuller appreciation of the meaning of the Birth and Revelation of Jesus Christ(Asdvadzhaydnootyoon)and its powerful potential for their own lives. Participants will also be guided through the beautiful traditions, rituals and symbols that are distinctive to the Armenian Church's Christmas celebration.
In the warm and inviting atmosphere of St. Nersess, participants will also have plenty of opportunity to renew friendships and renew their spirit ahead of the Spring Semester that will await them at college.
Further details, including tuition, schedule, and application will be posted on the Seminary's website soon.
