In today's competitive and aggressive world, American-Armenian college students looking to build a respectable and comfortable future for themselves do not have the luxury of taking time off during the summer. Part-time or full-time jobs, internships, and summer classes will occupy all but a few precious days of their summer.
So why will 2 dozen Armenian college students spend five days at St. Nersess next week?

For the first time in nearly 20 years, the Seminary is organizing not one but two conferences for college students this summer, by popular demand. "Last year's one and only college conference in mid-August was filled to capacity and a lot of kids missed out," said Fr. Stepanos Doudoukjian, Director of Youth and Vocations for the Seminary. "We decided to add a shorter conference for this age group at the beginning of the summer. We hope that college kids will be able to come to this conference before they set out on their other summer plans."

The conference will feature discussions on issues of relevance to American-Armenian college students, including interactive presentations on the teachings and traditions of the Armenian Church. Daily worship and Bible Study are also part of the program, which is filled out by plenty of unstructured time for socializing, sports and other activities.
In another first, participants of next week's conference will go on an exciting overnight trip, the details of which will not be disclosed until the first day of the conference!
Leading the College Conference will be Rev. Fr. Stepanos Doudoukjian, newly-appointed Director of Youth and Vocations for St. Nersess Seminary and seminary dean V. Rev. Fr. Daniel Findikyan.
Also speaking at the conference will be: Jason Demerjian, Director of College Ministry for the Eastern Diocese.
