The Indescribable St. Nersess Experience
The St. Nersess Conferences have attracted thousands of teenagers and college-aged students to explore their faith and the heritage of the Armenian Church with friends in a safe, fun and unique environment. Clergy and lay church leaders instruct the participants in the fundamentals of the Armenian Church's faith and traditions, and they encourage frank discussions about issues important to young people.
The conferences make daily worship, Bible Study and Armenian language instruction appealing and fun. In addition, sports, day-trips, home-cooked meals and those indescribable St. Nersess traditions make for a well-rounded and innovative experience where young people make deep, lasting friendships and discover their place in the Armenian Church.
The legendary annual excursion to the "Jersey Shore" The Deacons' Training Program offers innovative and interactive training for young men who would like to serve the church as deacons and altar servers. | Frank Discussion About Important Topics Here are some of the topics to be addressed this summer:
Back by popular demand, participants will be able to ask any question they have about the church, its teachings and traditions, Christian faith, the Bible, and issues of concern to them, no matter how sensitive or controversial. Anonymously dropped into the Question Box, the questions will be addressed by a panel of clergy. Deacons' Training Program The Deacons' Training Program will take place from June 25 - July 3. Directed by V. Rev. Fr. Daniel Findikyan, the program is designed for young men who would like to learn to participate in the liturgical services of the Armenian Church as deacons and altar servers. Through practical workshops and interactive classes, participants learn the deacons' chants of the Divine Liturgy and other services while better understanding the rituals, music, symbols and chants. |
Participants benefit from daily study of the Bible and Liturgy, morning and evening worship and Armenian language instruction. Sports, games, excursions, and the indescribable phenomenon of St. Nersess make the Deacons' Training Program unique, rewarding and fun. The program is open to young men at least 14 years old. No previous experience is necessary.
Tuition, room and board for the High School Conferences is $525. Junior High School is $325. Post High School is $425. Deacons' Training Program is $450. Applicants are encouraged to check with their parish priests or Parish Councils about the availability of full or partial scholarships.
