Tamara Ohanyan is Senior Book Conservator at the Library of Congress. | March 11, 2011 Ms. Tamara Ohanyan, Senior Book Conservator at the U.S. Library of Congress, will give a live demonstration of the Armenian art of book-binding and manuscript restoration at St. Nersess on Friday, March 25 at 7:30PM. Ms. Ohanyan, a native of Yerevan, Armenia, is a graduate in Art at the Pedagogical State University of Yerevan. She has worked as a book conservator at the Matenadaran National Manuscript Archives in Yerevan, and the New Julfa Armenian Monastic Library in Isfahan, Iran. As an artist, her works have appeared in exhibits in Armenia, the U.S. and Canada. Ms. Ohanyan will speak about her vast experience of restoring ancient Armenian manuscripts, which are windows into Armenia's history, culture and faith.
