On Friday evening, February 17, the youth of St. James Armenian Church (Richmond, VA) were the first to receive applications and details about this summer's St. Nersess Summer Conferences, "hot-off-the-press."
Fr. Stepanos Doudoukjian, Director of Youth and Vocations for St. Nersess Armenian Seminary, paid a special visit to the parish for this express purpose. There to greet him were fellow St. Nersess alumnus and St. James parish priest Fr. Hovsep and Yn. Jennifer Karapetyan, along with young members of their parish. The group enjoyed food, fellowship and a briefing from Fr. Stepanos about the ever-popular St. Nersess summer programs geared for teenagers, college students and young professionals.
The conferences, which have been a St. Nersess summer tradition for more than 40 years, brings together under one roof up to 25 young, Armenian-Americans for several days of faith-based open discussions, Bible study, and informative presentations on the Armenian Church and culture. Christian fellowship is also a key to the success of each conference.
