The St. Nersess community was host to seven seminarians of the Malankara Orthodox Church on Thursday evening, September 22. The Malankara seminarians also study at St. Vladimir's, where St. Nersess students also take courses.
The Malankara Orthodox Church is the Orthodox Church of India, traditionally evangelized by the Apostle Thomas. It is one of the five so-called Oriental Orthodox Churches, of which the Armenian Church is also one. Although they have diverse spiritual and theological traidtions, these ancient, eastern churches have no substantial differences in doctrine and are in full communion.
The Malankara Orthodox students participated in Evening Prayer in the Seminary chapel and joined the Armenians for dinner.
Fr. Daniel Findikyan welcomed the visitors, telling them to consider St. Nersess to be their home.
