Seminarians, faculty, staff and friends gathered in the St. Nersess Chapel at 6:45 this morning to celebrate the Divine Liturgy on the Feast of the Presentation of the Lord to the Temple.
The Badarak was celebrated by St. Nersess alumnus Rev. Fr. Diran Bohajian, Pastor of St. Leon Armenian Church (Fair Lawn, NJ). Fr. Bohajian also preached the sermon in Armenian and English.

Lord, now lettest thou thy servant depart in peace,
according to thy word;
For mine eyes have seen thy salvation which thou hast prepared,
in the presence of all peoples,
A light for revelation to the Gentiles,
and for glory to thy people Israel.
The Feast of the Presentation of the Lord to the Temple falls on the fortieth day following Christmas, February 14. Churches which celebrate Christmas on December 25 date the Feast forty days later, on February 2.
Last evening the Seminarians, following the tradition of the Armenian Church, lit a fire outside symbolizing the "light" which is Christ the Lord.
Also participating in this morning's Liturgy were Rev. Fr. Karekin Kasparian, and Rev. Fr. Sahak Kaishian, along with the Dean, V. Rev. Fr. Daniel Findikyan.
