ST. NERSESS CALLS CONFERENCE ALUMNI HOME - Evening under the stars scheduled for September 13
On Saturday evening, September 13, St. Nersess Armenian Seminary is calling all Summer and Winter Conference alumni home for an “Evening Under the Stars” to reminisce about memories made at 150 Stratton Road.
These St. Nersess youth conferences are nearly 50 years strong and have attracted thousands of participants over the years. Currently, seven programs take place throughout the summer ranging from college, high school and junior high programs to a deacon’s training seminar. Plus a winter conference for college-aged students also takes place. These conferences provide an opportunity for youth and young adults to gather in a safe haven to discuss current and relevant issues, learn more about the Armenian culture and church, and simply mix and mingle with other Armenian youth throughout the country forming a family bond that endures time.
The cocktail and hors d’oeuvres reception will begin at 7 p.m. at the Seminary located in New Rochelle, NY. Hosts for the evening include Glen & Margaret Ajamian, Berj & Suzanne Akian, Haig & Nadine Ariyan, Steve & Diane Dadekian, Gregory & Alysia Ekizian, Edward & Rita Jerejian, Gregory & Ani Manuelian, Steve & Lilly Mekenian, and Mark & Susan Pogharian.
It is hoped that this event will not only reunite conference alumni, but will also serve as a springboard to mobilize this group to continue in their support of the Seminary.
This coming semester, St. Nersess will have 10 students from the Eastern and Western Dioceses working towards their Master of Divinity degree as they prepare to become priests. Many of today’s seminarians, as well as a large number of clergy and lay leaders serving the North American Dioceses are direct products of the St. Nersess conferences.
All are invited--even if this will be your first visit to St. Nersess!
