Fusing formidable forces, staff, seminarians and alumni of St. Nersess Seminary will team up with the ACYOA for an all-day youth gathering targeting teens, college students and young professionals.
Dozens of youth from throughout the Midwest are expected to converge on St. Gregory the Illuminator Armenian Church, Chicago, IL on Saturday, October 22, 2005 for the day of faith, fun and fellowship.
"St. Nersess is coming to Chicago!," said Fr. Daniel Findikyan, who will be participating in the Conference along with Fr. Stepanos Doudoukjian, the Seminary's recently-appointed Director of Youth and Vocations. "We are planning a day of varied activities modeled after our summer conferences," Fr. Daniel said, adding, "Call it a mini-St. Nersess Conference if you like."

They will be joined by Ms. Maria Derderian, Chair of the ACYOA Central Council and a St. Nersess seminarian.
The day's activities will include interactive sessions on such topics as "The Armenian Alphabet and the Bible 16 Centuries Later;" "New Age Spirituality;" and "Why Do Bad Things Happen to Good People?" Rounding out the day will be a "Session with Scripture," a "Think-Tank," and "Hot Topics," an opportunity for participants to ask questions about the Armenian Church and Christian life.

The Regional Conference is open to all teens, college students and young adults. For further information or to register (deadline for registration is October 17) contact the ACYOA Executive Director Nancy Basmajian or phone (212) 686-0710.
