
Three students will be graduated from St. Nersess Armenian Seminary at Commencement ceremonies to be conducted at the Seminary on Sunday, May 22, 2005.
The graduates have completed their Armenian Church studies at St. Nersess. They have also completed graduate studies in various theological fields at St. Vladimir's Orthodox Seminary in nearby Crestwood, NY. Commencement at St. Vladimir's will take place on Saturday, May 21.
Deacon Levon Kirakosyan will graduate with the Master of Divinity degree. He as born in Etchmiadzin, Armenia, and earned a degree in Economics before beginning his studies at St. Nersess in 2000. For the past year, as he was completing his course requirements and Master's thesis, he served as a pastoral intern at St. Vartan Cathedral under the supervision of Rev. Fr. Mardiros Chevian, Dean of the Cathedral and a St. Nersess alumnus. Deacon Levon lives with his wife Anna in Fort Lee, New Jersey. They are expecting their first child later this year.


Divine Liturgy and Ordinations
The public is invited to participate in the day's activities, which will begin with the celebration of the Divine Liturgy by His Eminence Abp. Khajag Barsamian, Primate of the Eastern Diocese of the Armenian Church of America and President of the Board of Directors. During the Badarak His Eminence will bestow the four minor orders of tbir (acolyte) on graduates Daron Bolat and Yervant Kutchukian. He will also ordain Yervant as sub-deacon.
The commenecement ceremony will take place immediately following the Divine Liturgy. A light luncheon will also be served.
