"This year, we expect even more walkers in support of our beloved Seminary as we continue to commemorate 50 years of St. Nersess serving the Armenian Church and people in North America." |
As an exciting incentive, the walker who collects the highest amount of sponsorships will win a brand new Apple iPad. The popular tablet has been donated by an anonymous friend of the Seminary.
Joining this year's walk at the Seminary will be the participants of the Mid-Atlantic regional ACYOA Junior retreat, which will conclude their weekend at St. Nersess for the afternoon stroll.
Local Walks Planned Nationwide to Support St. Nersess
But the Walk for Faith is not just for youth. And it is not just for people who live near the Seminary.
All are welcome to Walk for Faith in their own neighborhoods. Armenian Churches throughout the country are expected to organize walks for around their parish neighborhoods after church services on April 15.

The Walker who collects the most dollars in sponsorships will win a brand new Apple iPad!
Back in New Rochelle, the afternoon will begin with a light lunch and prayer at 1:00PM followed by the walk throughout the neighboring streets of the Seminary at 2:00PM. Fr. Daniel, the seminarians, Deacon Levon, Michelle, and members of the Board of Directors will all have their walking shoes on.
"We look forward to the Walk for Faith every year because it rallies our friends to raise funds for St. Nersess by asking even non-Armenian friends and neighbors to make a modest gift to the Seminary of five or ten dollars," Fr. Findikyan said. "We hope that this year's iPad incentive will encourage even more walkers to participate."
The financial goal is to raise a minimum of $25,000. "I have no doubt that we can realize this goal through our motivated youth and supporters of St. Nersess who have benefitted from all that the Seminary has given to them through the years," said Seminary Board Treasurer Steve Mekenian confidently.
