Penitential Hymns of Exodus 15 (Abashkharootyan Orhnootyoon)
(Յամենայն ժամ)
Tone 4

Translated by: V. Rev. Fr. Daniel Findikyan

At all times my request is this: purify me of my sins, O Lord.

My heart trembles from my transgressions. I beg you, fortive me, Lord.

Do not silence my lamentation, O Lord, for I am an alien in a fleeting land.

Have mercy on me, O my God, have mercy on me. For I have no answer for anything. Forgive me, Lord.

Your paths are straight. Only I have gone astray. Turn me and have mercy on me, O God.

Your judgements are fair. Only I have sinned. Justify me and have mercy on me, O God.

You are my hope, O Lord, forgiver of my transgressions. Do not overlook the flow of my tears. Have mercy on me, O God.

I have taken refuge in you like the Prodigal Son. Father, I have sinned in heaven and before you. Have mercy on me, O God.

Save me, O God, from my many sins. Make we worthy of your holy kingdom. Have mercy on me, O God.

My sins are excessive, heavier than the sands of the sea, for against you alone have I sinned. Have mercy on me, O God.

Open, Lord, the gate of mercy, lamenting, I call to you, for against you alone have I sinned. Have mercy on me, O God.

Pour upon me your compassion, O most merciful lover of mankind, for against you alone have I sinned. Have mercy on me, O God.

I have sinned against you, Lord, I have sinned. Have mercy on me.

I have sinned, I have transgressed and have been betrayed into the hands of the lawless enemy. Now, having fallen down, I beg you: forgive me, Lord.

I have sinned even more than anyone, my compassionate Lord. More than anyone I have transgressed and have been betrayed into the hands of the lawless enemy. Now, having fallen down, I beg you: forgive me, Lord.

Let your mercy come upon us, Lord, and let your word of salvation keep our souls from sin.

May your mercy and your truth and the light of your face lead us to justice.

Merciful, compassionate and forbearing Lord, receive our supplications through the intercession of the holy Mother of God.

Lord, I heard the account of your second coming and I feared, for I learned from the holy commandments that you are coming to judge the earth.

Lord, I remembered my evil deeds and I was frightened, for I came to know, in truth, your awesome and impartial judgment.

Lord, I remembered the compassion of your creative love toward your creatures, and taking refuge in your compassion, I beg: have mercy on me on that day, O Christ, righteous Judge.

Through the supplication of the Mother of God, your incorrupt mother, may you open the sensible eyes of our hearts in your mercy to gaze at your light, O Christ.

Glory to the Father and to the Son and to the Holy Spirit.

Mary, immaculate Virgin, plead with your incorrupt groom that he be reconciled with my widowed soul; and that he be reunited in love with me, who have been alienated from him.

Now and always and unto the ages of ages. Amen.

When you shine from the East in light beyond words and enlighten those of faith; and when you condemn the race of faithless Jews, O holy four-winged cross; enlighten me, too, who have been obscured in sin, and promote me among the ranks of the book of your ineffable kingdom of heaven so that you may be praised ceaselessly. And your is the glory forever, Amen.
